Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival

This August, Artist-in-Residence Alan Gilbert returns to the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, where he takes on the dual role of instrumentalist-conductor for two dates.

On August 11, Alan is joined by his wife Kajsa William-Olsson, cello; his sister Jennifer Gilbert, violin; and her husband Harvey de Souza, violin. Also performing are Paolo Bordignon, Guillermo Figueroa, Margaret Dyer Harris, L.P How, Soovin Kim, Leigh Mesh, Liang Wang.

Together, they present J.S Bach’s Concerto in C Minor for Violin & Oboe, Handel’s Concerto Grosso in D Major, Op. 6, No. 5, Vivaldi’s Concerto in F Major for Three Violins and Concerto in B Minor for Four Violins.

Then, on August 13, Alan leads a concert of Schoenberg’s chamber version of Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth). Performing in the orchestra are: Gloria Chien, Sasha Cooke, Simon Crawford-Phillips, Richard Deane, Harvey de Souza, Daniel Druckman, Jennifer Gilbert, Paul Groves, Eric Kim, Anthony McGill, Leigh Mesh, Christopher Millard, Tara Helen O’Connor, Manabu Suzuki, Liang Wang, Amy Zoloto, and Gregory Zuber.
