Alan Gilbert and the NDR Elbphilharmonie welcome audiences back with this fall with a season opening program that will be presented seven times starting on September 1. Performances are possible through a combination of socially distanced seating, live-streaming, shortened program length, and multiple successive performances each day. Joining Alan and the Elbphilharmonie are volinists Lisa Batiashvili (September 1-2) and Leonidas Kavakos (September 3-4) who both perform Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2 in G minor paired with the third symphony of Johannes Brahms. The opening concert will take place at 8pm CEST on September 1, with the orchestra then presenting two concerts per day on September 2, 3, 4, and 5.
