This November, Alan Gilbert reunites with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig. From November 15-17, Alan conducts the orchestra in an all-Dvořák program. On the program is the Czech composer’s The Noon Witch and Sixth Symphony, along with the Cello Concerto featuring Truls Mørk.
Alan and the orchestra perform two concerts of Smetana’s Má Vlast (Nov 22 & 23) and one matinee spotlighting excerpts from the symphonic cycle (Nov 24).
In Leipzig, Alan also showcases his chamber music collaborations. With the Gewandhaus Quartet, Alan plays viola in works by Mozart, Schubert, and Dvořák.
