This winter, Alan Gilbert leads hometown performances in Stockholm.

At Sweden’s Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, where he was Music Director for eight years, Alan Gilbert conducts two symphonies: Allan Pettersson’s Seventh (Jan 29 & 30) and Bruckner’s Seventh, which he couples with the Swedish premiere of SPIRA, a concerto for orchestra by NDR Composer-in-Residence Unsuk Chin (Jan 23 & 25). Inon Barnatan joins for Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto for the January 30 performance.

On January 19, Alan performs the Schubert Quintet and Kaija Saariaho’s Je sens un deuxième cœur alongside musicians of the RSPO.
